Visiting Scholars Program

IFAR Atma Jaya warmly welcomes visiting scholars from around the world who wish to pursue independent research or collaborate with our scholars on joint projects.

Qualified visiting scholars typically hold a doctoral candidacy, PhD, or equivalent terminal degree in their field. They are sponsored by another academic institution, government agency, NGO, or industry partner. PhD candidates conducting dissertation research are encouraged to apply for this position.

As a visiting scholar, you may audit classes, participate in seminars, use the library, and consult with IFAR Atma Jaya Scholars. The visiting scholar appointment can be revoked at any time at the Institute’s discretion.

While visiting scholars have no formal duties, you may be invited to engage in academic life by giving occasional lectures, advising students, or consulting with faculty.

To apply, you must first establish a relationship with an IFAR Atma Jaya Scholars who will support your affiliation. We welcome research that advances equity and social justice. Submit a letter of interest to muhammad.fajar@atmajaya.ac.id with “Visiting Scholar” in the subject line. Include a description of your proposed research and its relevance to our mission and research stream.
